City of Indianapolis turns to Constellation for Incident Management to Secure 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500

Five days before the race the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced it had closed ticket sales for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, IndyCar’s premier event, due to overwhelming interest. Sunday’s race is expected to be attended by more than 300,000 people — 70,000 to 100,000 more than last year, according to Indianapolis Motor Speedway owners Hulman & Company.

To help them stay on top of potential threats, the City of Indianapolis has deployed Haystax’s Constellation for Incident Management, allowing officials to monitor, report, alert and respond from a shared environment. Previously a customer of Haystax’s Digital Sandbox 7 (DS7), Indianapolis recently switched over to Constellation for Incident Management, providing the city with even better usability, improved sharing between central command and officers in the field, and better collaboration. Above all, Constellation for Incident Management enables the city to quickly close the loop between identifying a potential threat and responding to it.

“We’re proud to partner with a forward-thinking, sophisticated customer like the City of Indianapolis,” said Chriss Knisley, President, Haystax Technology. “Under the leadership of Chief Coons, Indianapolis has demonstrated the ability to deploy an incident management and response system built on our platform that exceeds the capabilities of much larger organizations.”

Constellation has already proven successful for helping secure a number of high-profile events, most recently at Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, CA, and the 2016 NFL Draft in Chicago, IL. Haystax Constellation for Incident Management is easy to set up, with no hardware or software requirements, and offers a 14-day free trial so organizations of all sizes can try the same application that is being used at the Indianapolis 500.
