Haystax Haystax Analytics Platform™ Provides Situational Awareness at the Boston Marathon

Haystax Analytics Platform™ to Monitor, Assess and Prevent Security Threats at the Boston Marathon

McLean, Va., April 18, 2014 – Haystax Technology Inc., a developer of next-generation intelligence and analytics solutions, today announced the company’s Haystax Real-Time Analytics Platform will be utilized at the Boston Marathon for situational awareness and public safety threat analysis. The Boston Office of Emergency Management and the Boston Regional Intelligence Center will leverage Haystax’ Haystax Platform to monitor and prevent potential public safety threats at the event. Haystax Haystax Real-Time Analytics Platform is a powerful, unique solution that aggregates and analyzes large streams of real time data from multiple sources, including tweets, video, text, chat and emails. Algorithms prioritize the data streams based on decision makers requirements and the Haystax platform then routes information to the right analyst for quick resolution. The results are easy to understand visual depictions that can be quickly assessed by Boston Marathon security personnel to proactively prevent potential threats or react quickly to incidents. The Platform is scalable, multi-tenant cloud architecture and built on leading open-source technologies. The Haystax Analytics Platform™ was first utilized during Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium this past February. The solution was also in use at America’s Cup, the Chicago Marathon and the Emmy’s. This new iteration has a number of new features and functions, including Geo-fencing along the marathon route and interactive filtering of data to quickly localize information as needed. “Ensuring public safety at the Boston Marathon is complex because the perimeters are much wider, than for instance, at the Super Bowl. In a marathon you can’t orchestrate every detail, nor can you create a police state type environment, so access to real time, actionable intelligence is crucial,” said Bryan Ware, CTO of Haystax Technology, Inc. “Haystax’s patented prioritization algorithms find key links in the data, which deliver up to the minute situational awareness even with the scope and geographic challenges of the Marathon course. We are confident our solution will deliver upon its promise providing public safety visibility for first responders.”
