Haystax Apps Support Event Monitoring for Super Bowl XLVIII

Mobile Intelligence from Haystax Integrates with Intrado THOR Shield® Mobile Emergency Command Center Program to Enhance Public Safety
McLean, VA – January 30, 2014 – Haystax Technology, Inc. today announced it will provide mobile apps designed to enhance security during Super Bowl XLVIII. The Haystax DS7 apps will be integrated into the Intrado THOR Shield® mobile communications and command center to enable situational awareness and provide security forces with the insight they need to proactively address security threats for this event, which is expected to draw up to 80,000 people to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, February 2. A cloud-based suite of applications, the Haystax DS7 connects all front-line elements of the public safety community, providing a single source for data collection, prioritization, presentation and analysis. The DS7 will be accessed onsite via the Intrado THOR Shield, a comprehensive mobile communications and command program that delivers on-demand public safety operational continuity and technical support. The Super Bowl has been designated a Level One security event, which requires the average 100-foot security perimeter at the stadium to be extended to 300 feet. To monitor this extended area, the New Jersey State Police will deploy the security solution comprised of the Haystax DS7 and Intrado THOR Shield to provide first responders with a fully operational mobile command center from which they can assess security threats by seamlessly evaluating real-time information from police and fire calls for service systems, automatic vehicle location (AVL), live camera feeds, and other law enforcement and publicly available information sources. “Typically this sort of Level One monitoring capability required fixed command centers with dozens of displays and a massive IT infrastructure,” said Anthony Beverina, President, Public Safety & Commercial Business at Haystax. “We have met the demand for innovation from our public safety partners and customers by delivering integrated mobile applications that are ready for action in hours, not days. In order to develop this comprehensive offering, we worked with Intrado to design a customized technology platform to enable mission critical command operations from anywhere. Situational monitoring has been raised to new heights with incident management and response functions – all under one roof.” Haystax DS7 takes in live data feeds from multiple sources and prioritizes the information for field teams based on customized key-word configurations and its patented risk analytics. Those feeds can be routed into tailored command channels that are unique for a specific individual commander or specific discipline. Haystax DS7 creates a multi-view configuration of risk, providing analysts with three different views of the event’s risk information, as it is occurring. In this particular application, data feeds will be routed and accessed using the Intrado THOR Shield platform. “Intrado is very pleased to work with Haystax on this critical application,” said Stephen Meer, Chief Technology Officer at Intrado. “Haystax DS7 applications, combined with the mobility and seamless interoperability of THOR Shield, will give key personnel on the ground an additional layer of emergency communications and rapid response capabilities. The public safety needs of the local, state and federal authorities involved in the Super Bowl call for the best that both our companies have to offer, and that’s what we have delivered here.” The area being covered by the security solution comprises an estimated 13,000 parking spots, as well as having responsibility for monitoring more than 12,000 passengers arriving by train and another 40,000 fans expected to arrive by bus. About Haystax Haystax Technology, Inc. provides next-generation intelligence and analytics solutions that deliver up to the minute situational awareness and actionable intelligence for the public and commercial sectors.
