Security teams tasked with maintaining complete domain awareness of their most critical facilities will find greater flexibility and useful new features in recent product releases of our Haystax Analytics Platform.
Among the latest enhancements are new capabilities for managing critical asset data and conducting safety assessments in the field.
Managing Asset Data
Our Assets app enables users to manage detailed data on any valued entity, such as a factory, a school or an office. Each entry in our Assets app typically contains address and contact information, as well as photos and other details important to managing the asset’s risk. Among recent improvements are:
- Address lookup and validation: Two new features improve handling of address information for assets in the system. When an asset is being created, a new dropdown menu will suggest addresses found in a data set of existing place names. If the place is found and selected, the address and latitude/longitude will be populated automatically from this data. The second new feature is an address validation button that may be clicked if incomplete address information is provided, and the service will try to complete and validate the address, also setting the lat/long of the location on the object. (Street address and state are required to perform validation.)
- Read-Only/Required fields: Two new template ‘keys’ have been introduced to set asset data fields as Read-Only and/or Required. If the Read-Only key is present, the user will not be allowed to edit the value of the attribute. If the Required key is present, saving an object will require that a value first be set for that attribute.
Conducting Field Assessments
The Assessments app has long been a mainstay in the Haystax platform, and recent enhancements will ensure it continues to play a crucial role in helping organizations understand their biggest threats and vulnerabilities. Among the improvements are:
- Support for assessments without an asset: Some users will want to conduct an assessment on a person or place even without creating a related asset. Previously only if an asset already existed in the tenant could an assessment be created. Now, a new capability has been added to allow for an asset-less assessment, regardless of which assessment template is being used.
- Required questions: Any assessment question can now be labeled as required, at which point the user may not set a section as Complete until that question has been answered. The setting is configured in the template form for each particular assessment before it is loaded into the tenant.
