LA School Report, which reports on the intersection of politics and education in the Los Angeles area, examined the successful safety assessment integration between Haystax Technology and Los Angeles School Police Department. The partnership has resulted in a number of comprehensive safety assessments employing a Haystax-developed mobile tool. Conducted by LASPD officers, these safety assessments help identify crime and safety vulnerabilities at district schools. A process that was once tedious and conducted on paper is now simplified with the use of iPads, which allow officers to quickly and efficiently input notes to? Haystax’ cloud-based data system that can also be accessed by outside public safety agencies authorized to use the tool. This increased information sharing allows outside agencies to effectively respond to any threats at district schools that have been assessed for vulnerabilities. “LASPD is truly a pioneer in the area of school safety,” said Haystax CEO William B. Van Vleet III. “We hope other school districts across the nation will follow their lead and give schools the tools they need to make informed decisions about how best to protect students and staff.” Please click this link to read the full article on LA School Report’s website
